CLAYTON & LAMBERT MFG. CO.
C&L as they were popularly known were prolific blowtorch and fire pot manufacturers. Based in the USA with factories at Michigan and Detroit they manufactured units over many decades. Many products shown in early 1916 catalogs were still made thirty to forty years later.
Note: All Fire Pots of any make are in a shared Fire Pots page.

C&L 144A (Gasoline 2 pt – abt 1934 to 1949)
Notes: A value version of the model 32A having a slightly smaller flame and promoted as a mechanic’s grade blowtorch. The burner is made of high grade generator bronze. The filler plug is found underneath in a natural funnel created in the concave base plate. The thin cover (gold) shown in the top photo was optional for these blowtorches which were each individually tested.

C&L 600A-2 (Gasoline 1 qt – 1950s to 1960s)
Notes: This brass blowtorch is a later and less common version of the model 600A. It has the newer octagonal plastic valve wheel and a conventional pump knob rather than the earlier tee shaped one. This blowtorch, from Dean Dorholt’s collection, produces a good size flame and incorporates a sharp pointed needle burner designed for occasional jobs. The tank base is funnel shaped and thus bottom filled. The burner has different heater holes (lower image) to those of the model 600A.
